I've been putting off this post for hours, but I have to tell you. Sadly, I didn't reach 50,000 words for National Novel Writing Month(NaNoWriMo). Just because the official NaNoWriMo is over, however, doesn't mean Smashwords's NaNoWriMo program is. I've written almost 30,000 words, and I'll keep updating my book on Smashwords until it's finished.
Believe it or not, this was my best NaNoWriMo yet. I started in 2010 and made it to 16,000 words. 2011 was worse. I only made it to about 5,000 words. So even if I didn't win the contest and finish my book, I feel good about what I've done this year.
I may not update my book nearly as frequently as before, but please, feel free to check Smashwords every now and then. The Siren's Apprentice is definitely on its way to completion and I think towards being a great story.
